I am very excited to let you know that our Automated Work Zone Speed Enforcement Program (AWZSE) has been named as a finalist in the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials’ (AASHTO) 2020 America’s Transportation Awards competition. AWZSE is one of the “Top 12” competing for the competition’s two highest honors.


Seventy-nine project nominees from 36 State Departments of Transportation, competed in four hard fought U.S. regional contests. PennDOT, along with these finalists are credited with making travel across America safer, better and more accessible to motorist, bicyclists and pedestrians alike.
